Ellen OchoaEllen Ochoa was born on May 10, 1958. She is an American engineer, current director of the Johnson Space Center and a former astronaut. Ochoa became the first Hispanic woman in the world to go to space when she served about the shuttle Discover, on a nine-day mission.
