Amelia EarhartAmelia Earhart was born in 1897 and was an author and aviation pioneer. She became the first female pilot to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean along with setting many other records. She was also a faculty member at Purdue University and an early supporter of the Equal Rights Ammendment. She disappeared on a flight in 1937.
